Haunted 1-29
Ah, so here’s a reveal I’d initially planned to happen in a much later chapter. But at the beyond-sluggish rate this is going, I’m tempted to throw all my cards on the table at once, and so now Chapter 1 is a long-ass bitch.
Here’s a brief list of things I hadn’t planned to be in Chapter 1 but that are now in it:
- Synesthesia reveal
- Bernard’s introduction
- Althea’s introduction
- More Nina and Neta
- More Iliana and crew, for god’s sakes, a lot more
Unfortunately, the longer Ch. 1 is, the longer we have before 14-y.o. Yuan throws individual beans at a boy he doesn’t realize he has a crush on.
Omg, Iliana’s pose is perfect. And Gail! Being adorable nerding out (and annoying the new boss). If only everyone knew Yuan’s actual secret… juicy. Just like a ghost. A juicy ghost.
Yeah, Yuan, I caught that not-so-subtle flash of the wedding band.
It’s true, Xiyuan’s situation is a hard ghost to swallow.
Did I say ghost? I mean pill.
See? The ones reading in the corner are always the best! I wonder if synesthesia helps or hinders audio processing disorder. I think hinders. But that’s not a concern for Yuan, who seems to process remarkably well!
Synesthesia and APD would be an interesting combination—albeit one I don’t feel qualified to write about! Yuan’s only had to deal with external language barriers.
I just read a series of books by Baldacci where the protagonist has synesthesia – very interesting!
Gail springs to life! It’s cute how THIS topic is her element and she’s just going all over the place.
Poor Yuan though. Trying to be the boss and instead he’s becoming a lab rat.
